In the last twenty plus years, I have worked in Customer Service and Sales with my current employer. On top of this, I am now recognized as a "Power Seller" with Ebay. What an honor! I truly feel I am qualified in writing a guide for successful selling on Ebay. So, here goes my attempt to share....
MY 13 VALUABLE TIPS TO SELLING!
I really credit my success to my past customer service experience. I've had the pleasure of assisting some wonderful and friendly customers as well as difficult and complaining ones. You know, those that are not pleased no matter what! This valuable experience has been why I am successful today as an Account Executive with my company and also as a Power Seller with Ebay. What I have found out is that overall the most important key in becoming a successful seller is: (1) Building a positive relationship with your customer. This comes from being honest, precise, empathetic, trustworthy, kind, and friendly. When you have build that relationship, your customers will keep coming back. I see that on Ebay as I have several repeat buyers. I have built a friendship with a lot of my buyers. However, there are a few I have not nor do I care to. You will have some of those difficult ones. But if you are a good seller, these are few and far between.
My other twelve successful selling tips are: (2) Know your customer needs and wants. You can accomplish this by determining what is selling the most. In my case, it is children's toys ie Spiderman, Superman, Batman, CARS, Disney Princess, and Scooby Doo items. I have found that Charming Tail figurines are another "hot" item. (3) Be truthful and honest in the description of what you are selling. Don't mislead the customer just to make a sell. It will hurt you in the long run! (4) List the benefits of your product/item. Draw in their interest. Let your customer know what you like most about the item. Be very descriptive. (5) Keep prices competitive and low. Do not try to become a millionaire. Remember, your customer is there to get a bargain deal for a quality item. Keeping prices low increases more sales opportunity (6) Give buyers an incentive to want to buy from you. For an example, surprise them with a Thank You gift if they buy multiple items from you. Also, ship items purchased immediately and expeditiously after your payment has been received. Offer shipping discounts when multiple items are purchased. (7) Provide Refunds Whenever Possible! If their item is damaged during shipment, empathize with customers and compensate when you can (8) Show your appreciation! I send thank you notes and sometimes include little pieces of candy in their box (9) Follow up. Check to see if customer is pleased with your product. Ask for their feedback and reply to any feedback given (10) Communicate with your customer . Let them know when to expect their package, provide any confirmation numbers, email them when package is mailed, etc. (11) Go the extra mile. Take the time with your customer. Let this Ebay experience be a pleasant one for you both. (12) Ask them for their repeat business. Invite them to do more business with you. Occasionally, send an Ebay message to buyer updating them on new listings. Provide the link to add you (the seller) as their favorite. This makes them feel special! (13) Enjoy the EBAY experience! It can be as REWARDING as you make it !!
HAPPY SELLING!!!
