This guide is being written to help you avoid problems when purchasing MP4 Players. We will explain the reasons to buy from US vendors and how this will help make your purchase transaction and after purchase support smooth and easy. We want to let you know that there is a level of service and customer support available for a product not found in your typical large chain stores. This guide is written with the understanding that you already know the MP4 players offer more features than it's iPod Nano counterpart. I will be writting a Guide on the differences soon but felt this was a more important issue for people to be aware of.
Make sure your vendor has product in the US before you bid. You can see this on the product description where it says "Item Location".
Buyer Beware! Not all MP4 players are alike. While the cases may look the same there are many differences on the inside one needs to be aware of. Some units have actually been modified to disply incorrect memory - You may think you purchased a 2GB and really it is a 1GB or 512MB that has been modified to display the incorrect memory. We test all of our inventory when it arrives to be sure it is the correct memory capacity and that all the units function. This level of quality control is not what you find from most vendors. While it does take more time and money to do so we strive to provide the best product backed up by the best service.
One thing I found the most interesting is that US Customs will actually stop a shipment to be sure the player is legal to be sold in the US. There are US Patents they are responsible for enforcing as well as the rights of the vendors to actually be selling the products. This can be a problem for you when you are purchasing from a vendor in China or elswhere and is one of the advantages to purchasing from a vendor with product already in the US. We import our own products direct from the factory in China to avoid these problems for you. Some vendors online will actually try to dropship product direct from China so they don't actually have the inventory on hand. This means they can't guarantee when your product will arrive because the product is out of their control.
Another thing to bear in mind is regarding any warranties that may be offered or implied. Dealing with a company in the US means you will be working with someone who speaks the language as well and also understands what is expected in terms of customer service, unless you deal with China on a regular basis this can be confusing and expensive. On a warrranty the customer pays shipping back to the vendor and the vendor pays on the return to the customer. Your product will be serviced much more quickly and cost you less considering you would be responsible for paying for shipping back to China as well as the time it takes to get the item there and back. We will have you serviced and back in business very quickly.
I hope this was of help in marking some of the main differences regarding vendor service.
