MP3 audiobooks are normal sized CDs but with extremely compressed MP3 files.  Unlike normal CDs which only hold a little more than an hour of listening, MP3 CDs will hold up to 15 or 16 hours of listening. 

Now to answer the question:  Will the MP3s work for me?

As long as your CD player has the MP3 technology it will play!  Almost all the new automobiles come standard with MP3 stereos.  Automobiles, prior to 2005 and 2006 did not have the MP3 stereos as standard equipment.  Most all portable CD players, like the Walkman, will play these audiobooks, but check your specific model prior to making an MP3-CD purchase.  The MP3 CD audiobooks also can be downloaded to MP3 players, such as the iPod.  And, they can be played ona  computer or a DVD player, too!
