Today our class at Golden Sunrise describes the Basic Instruction in How to Use Luna Lights
What are Luna Lights? Luna Lights are inks/paints that were developed by Stamp Oasis to be sponged, combed, painted, or marbled with Luna Paper, glossy colored cardstock, metal, ceramic, or plastic. Luna Paper is a specific paper that gives smooth results. Other glossy cardstock gives feathered results. Luna Lights are not like acrylic paint and will not blend to make 'mud'. Use a few colors or many with abandon and have no fear that the end piece of art will be ugly! In fact, each piece turns out looking amazing! I found that if I didn't like the first result, I just needed to moosh the papers together again until I was satisfied with the result.
Basic Instructions for Luna Lights
(Mostly taken from an informational brochure by Stamp Oasis)
On a 1/4 sheet of Luna Paper, drip 16 to 18 drops (more or less depending on size of paper--I usually used about 11 drops), of several colors of Luna Lights.
Place a second sheet over first and gently spread the ink to the edges. Do not press too hard or white blank spots will show. I enjoyed using a brayer lightly, but honestly, I got better results using my fingers.
Slowly pull the papers apart from the corners and let dry.
Emboss it! Punch it! Anything goes!
More Advanced Instructions
(Hold onto your hat -- This is gorgeous!)
Follow the same basic directions described above, but use glossy cardstock instead (black glossy cardstock is amazing!).
Pull the 2 pieces of paper apart and WOW! You get a dramatic look with glossy card stock! You will always get 'fingers' of color like you see here. For real fun, put the paper back together and pull back apart while the ink is still wet. Do this several times for an amazing result.
This is the favorite one I have done so far. I call it Flame:
I am having so much fun with these Luna Lights! I know you will too. There are 18 flavors, I mean colors. They all have a shimmery tone which these pictures do not show. The dried result does not have a flat, matte look, in fact, the dried result almost looks wet! Beautiful, beautiful Luna Lights!
Nova Blue, Galaxy Gold, Galileo Green, Orion Green, Meteor Moss, Lunar Lavender, Cosmic Copper, Ice Blue, Farscape Fuchsia, Aurora Teal, Rocket Red, Polaris Purple, Starfire Silver, Pluto Peach, Reactor Rose, Sirius White, Plasma Pink, Sunrise Yellow
