If you are shopping eBay looking for a Fake High end Purse or sunglasses, this guide is not for you, however, if it is your intention to find an authentic Louis Vuitton, Coach or Chanel Sunglasses at auction on eBay, you will in fact want to read this Buyer's Guide before you proceed.

Red flags - this Buyers Guide is about the identification of 'Red Flags' - those things you should look out for when shopping eBay for authentic high end merchandise as mentioned above. Here are those Red Flags.

1. Current Season Bags Below Retail = A Fake Bag

If a seller is prepared to let current season bags go for below retail, especially on a regular, day to day basis, the bags are ALMOST CERTAINLY fakes, no matter how authentic they may look. The only way a seller can regularly and most importantly, legitimately get a hold of genuine high end designer bags and sunglasses is if they are an authorized dealer - and if they are an authorized dealer, then they will most certainly mention this in their auction - look for it. If they do claim to be an authorized dealer, why are they selling at below retail on eBay? It doesn't pass the sniff test.

Your best bet is to buy a these items from a individual that is NOT selling them in bulk, and has narrative to the auction stating it was a gift, or something they won, etc, etc. LOOK at their feedback. Why? For several reasons - first and formost, check the auction numbers of the individuals that left the feedback in the recent past to see if any of those items are the same high end item you are bidding on. Sometimes sellers to use forthought to realize they are making up a story stating they have only one of these items, and you look to their feedback and they have sold 15 in the past 45 days.

Use this website to type in their username and it will give you only their negative feedback so you do not have to shift through several pages to see the comments left about them that are unfavorable.

2. The importance of Photographs.

This cannot be stressed enough. Look closely at these photographs for the following things:

Is the stitching all the same color? Can you see a serial number? Are the images very clear? Are they using stock images? Look for similiar backrounds in multiple images of the same auction. Why? Because some sellers are fake bags will include pictures of authentic bags mixed with pics of their fake bags, so look for consistency in backrounds etc. Ask them to take more pcitures of the item - if they respond with those requests images, that is a good sign.

3. Overseas Sales.

If the seller is from Russia, Far East, China etc. Stay clear. These sellers tend to register on the UK eBay because their selling requirements are so lax.

I suppose you can boil the advice given in this guide to a few important 'bullet' points.

Buy from a private party that is selling something they recieved/purchased and no longer want. They will answer your questions, requests for photos etc. They will not have feedback relating to the same type of items sold in the past. They take a lot of pictures. They will live within the United States. Use these parameters, and you have just drastically decrased your risk of being scammed into paying full price for a fake bag or sunglasses.

Safe buying Everyone.
