Fax Transmission Speed: Typically measured in pages per second - this shows how quickly a FAX can transmit given page. Slower machines transmit documents at 15 seconds per page while a higher end machine may transmit at 3 seconds per page. (It's important to note that the fastest a FAX can transmit a document is dependent on the slower of the two FAX machines.)


Page Memory: In case your FAX machine runs out of paper this notes the number of pages that the FAX can store in its memory until the paper is replaced. 1 MB of memory can hold about 40-50 pages.  


Print Technology:  Machines that use laser technology have the highest quality followed by Inkjet printers. Thermal printers.
while cheaper, may require special roll paper.


Paper Size: Most machines handle standard letter size paper (8.5" X 11") but if you work with legal size documents, make sure to note this when selecting a FAX machine.
