Looking for a LOT OF STUFF for a FEW of your DOLLARS?
When looking for items in a Lot on eBay, a little research can help determine a "reasonable" maximum purchase price. A "Reasonable" price may be determined by the comparable "going-rate" on ebay, at the time of your search. As applicable, the price can be based on:
- per-item [quantity] in a lot
- price per pack
- price per box
- price per foot
- price per inch
- total [with/without S&H] price
Determine Your Reasonable Maximum Price for a Lot of Items
SET A MAXIMUM (affordable) DOLLAR AMOUNT that you are willing to spend for certain types of Item-Lots. Will that include [S&H[ Shipping and Handling costs?
After much researching and watching, for many regular Lot-items on which I bid, I have set a maximum per-item price [including S&H] -- depending on Urgency of Need...
- $6 - $8 per Black Printer Cartridge Pack
- $8 per Polaroid 600 Film Pack
- 13c-18c per foot for Bubble Wrap
EXAMPLE:
If you are willing to spend $20 total Maximum Dollar Amount, including S&H, for a Lot of Widget...search results reveal:
(1) lot of 23 Widgets, with starting bid of $5 and $8.50 S&H >>> with a $20 maximum, average per-Widget price is 87c.
(2) lot with 50 items, starting @ $10 and $9.00 S&H...to use your avg. 87c per-item price for this lot, the 50 items would increase total to $43.50.
If $20 is your absolute Maximum Dollar Amount to spend, your maxium bid:
- on the 1st Lot [23 Items] would be $11.50 -Or
- on the 2nd Lot [50 Items] would be $11 -Or
- perhaps you would decide to increase your average purchasing price, for the bigger 2nd Lot
What Type of "DEAL" Do YOU WANT...
-
based on Regular/Retail [New Item] Price:
- 50% of Retail
- 1/3 or 33% of Retail
- 25% of Retail
-
based on Per Item/Quantity-Pricing:
- per-item [number] in a lot
- per pack
- per box
- per foot
- From my research and buying experience on ebay, I am willing to spend 13c - 16c PER FOOT for Bubble Wrap.
- per inch
