One of the biggest mistakes people make on ebay is not reading the key words in an auction before they bid on it. One of the biggest areas that people end up disappointed in are after market car parts. The thing to keep in mind here are the key words.
"Style"
and .....
"Type"
One example I see alot are after market head and tail lights. All of them usually say "EURO" or "Altezza" or some other brand name to get your attention to the auciton. If you look closer to the auction you will actually see things like. 1998 mustang "Altezza Stlye" tail lamps. Most people will assume this is indeed a brand name tail lamp and pay near brand name price if not higher. When you get the item you find its not the brand name nor is it "Exact-fit". Most of the cheap after market parts are "one-off" or "close-fit" because they are indeed made cheap to sell fast because of the price.
Protect yourself and your purchases. If you see an item on ebay listed as a brand name then goto the brand names official website and compare dimensions, part numbers, materials, and specs. If you find that the numbers are not exact then you are most likely not getting what you think you are and should either accept that what you get is what you pay for, or move on to find what you really intended to buy.
Enjoy!
