Longaberger has produced 2 Bread Baskets in DIFFERENT sizes over the years. The new version of the bread baskets has been used in multiple collections and stains. Confused? Read on and you able to identify which bread basket you have or want. Note: the (old) and (new) are not part of the name but are used to refer to time period, ie, age, which cam first, of the two Bread Baskets.
(old) Bread Basket measures 15" L x 8 W x 2.25" H and was produced from 1982-1988. Longaberger changed from Dark Stain to the Classic Stain in 1986 so this Bread Basket was available in both stains. Longaberger did not make a protector for this basket to the best of my knowledge.
(new) Bread measures 14.5" L x 7.5" W x 3.75" H and is the most common bread basket. Longaberger produced this form as an incentive basket in 1986. In 1988, this size basket replaced the (old) Bread basket as the Longaberger Bread Basket being sold. Longaberger has produced it in a variety of the Longaberger Lines: Regular Line (1988-present), Woven Traditions Line (1992-2001), Woven Traditions Natural Line (2000), Natural Line (1999-2001), White Washed Line (2001-2002), Seasons Line (2006), and Heartwood Line (2006-present). Basket has been produced in a variety of Stains: Classic Stain (1988-2002),Natural (1999-2002), White Washed (2001-2002), Warm Brown Stain (2002-present), Rich Brown Stain (2006-present), Deep Brown (2006-present), Bold Red (2006-present), Bold Blue (2006-present), Bold Green (2006-present), Soft Pink (2006), Soft White (2006), and Medium Green (2006).
