Recently, I began searching the millions of listings on Ebay for Lladro figurines for a friend. Not knowing anything, I looked at hundreds of items. However the more interested I became, the more I learned. I actually went to the registred website of Lladro and read the extensive information regarding what makes their items an original. Upon returning to Ebay I learned the following searching techniques work best. Begin search under Lladro-all categories. Decide what kind of figure you are looking for such as mother, child or nature. I would then begin the overwhelming task of looking at each article listed in the auction search. BEWARE, many sellers will list an item as Lladro when it is actually a Nao or nothing at all. Any avid collector should know that a true Lladro will have the Blue Bell/or Tulip on the bottom. I have emailed many sellers having to ask what is on the bottom of their item. Sellers...please take pictures of the bottoms. I ask the seller about the botttom to have them say they did not know it was not an original. Do not let their ignorance be your mistake. Please note that before bidding you can go the the official Lladro website and review all of their catalogues and find the item. It will show you exactly what the item looks like, how to verify authenticity and how much it last sold for. Be smart...sellers will list all kinds of information in their auctions in order to assure you that the item is real. I have reviewed auctions where the seller will even tell you why they cannot offer "LAP" ( Lladro Authenticity Protection" do not be fooled.Get your answers from the source. Also do not limit your searches to the correct spelling for Lladro, people make mistakes. If you are a true collector looking for a deal...take your time, your efforts will pay off in the long run
