More and more people are suffering from allergies and sensitive skin.
However, most cosmetic products, even very expensive ones, contain
harsh ingredients. If you cannot afford fragrance-free products from
Clinique you might try the following brands: Ivory soap (cheap but
good), Almay cosmetics, Cetaphil moisturizers and hair care products
from Earth Science. One of the most irritating chemical ingredients is
SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate). Many manufacturers use SLS because it
produdes foam very inexpensively. SLS can cause eye irritations, skin
irritations, canker sores and other skin conditions. Surprisingly, this
compound is also found in shampoos, soaps, and toothpastes. Make sure
you avoid SLS. Toothpastes like Rembrandt for Canker Sore Sufferers and
Dr. Burt's Bees toothpastes don't contain SLS. Good luck and get better
soon!
