Litter Kwitter Cat Toilet Training System

As one of the first distributors within the United States, we have been selling the Litter Kwitter for almost a year now with continued success of cat owners now happily NOT changing a litter box.  The litter kwitter is a training system comprised of 3 rings made from the same materials as a firefighters helmet.  There are several cat toilet training aids on the market, but none that are reusable and as sturdy as this material.

The item works by starting out with a large white ring on the top of your current litter box.  It is best if you place the litter box next to the toilet for several days to weeks so that your cat can acclimate to the change.  The litter kwitter unit is made for standard toilets (elongated toilets require modification of the litter kwitter). We do have a link to a modification for elongated toilets - it does require some work, but most people believe it is easier to modify this unit than to keep a litter box and changing litter.

Once your cat is acclimated to the change in location, you then place the white ring across the top of your toilet, snap it into place and insert the red ring into the unit.  Fill the unit with litter and allow several weeks for your cat to adjust to this new change.  Do not rush the process - this entire process should take around 6 - 8 weeks.  Several customers have told us that rushing the process results in urine or feces in places that you do not want it - so take your time in the training process.  The unit also includes a DVD which we highly recommend watching before using with your cat.

After a few weeks, you then change to the amber colored ring which includes a small hole in the center.  This is to get your cat used to the idea of a hole in the middle of where they will use the potty.  This is the hardest transformation for them once they realize a hole is in there.  If you experience any problems, it is best to move back to the red ring for a bit longer and allow time for your cat to adjust.  After a few weeks with the amber colored ring, you move to a green ring which is an even larger hole in the center and is just one small step away from using the potty.  Once you are at this stage, the process moves a long a little faster as the hole is close enough to the size of the potty that it is easy to transform.  At the final stag you can remove all rings and leave just the large white base - I recommend leaving this for at least another week before removing after completing the training process as it is a bit larger than the rim of a toilet and allows for the final phase of "balancing" on the toilet rim.

Remember, cats are animals, which means unpredictable - do not rush this process and you will be rewarded with a cat that can use the toilet - there are several examples of this on You Tube with much success, and we have over 1000 satisfied customers with this unit who no longer have a litter box to change.
