Feedback is a very important factor for buyers and sellers alike, it is your trust level on E Bay and thus you should take it serious.
Pictures are very important to the buyer, and when their are 15 of the exact same item that you are tring to sell would you buy one that had a picture or one without?
Antiques are used items: their history is part of their charm. Customers love it when you mention a small fault, because you are not likely to be disguising a big one. Honesty will deliver you from angry emails, returned items, negative feedback and having to cope with eBay's dispute procedures ... maybe all four.
Don't try too hard to minimize faults: it can make them seem worse! Here's a real example: " There is one area along the top where on very close examination the glaze appears to be interrupted and there's a very slight color change there toward the inner bowl of the cup, so I suspect there might have been a very professional repair at one time, but I can't say for sure -- it really looks so great and you have to try hard to spot it. So pretty! The advertiser could have simply have said: Slight color change near the rim may be a professional repair. Shorter, and less alarming.
Also promptly returing email, questions etc.. Is a huge part in how buyers feel about a transaction, face it buying on the internet can be a scary thing. So help them feel better about it by being prompt.
I feel that A Delivery Confirmation on a package is a life saver, as you can always fall back on it, also if you ever get a dispute with Paypal or E Bay and you dont have a D.C. you are going to lose and have to refund the money, it is defently worth the extra money.
Also a big thing that buyers hate is when you make insurance optional, they will pay for the insurance and if it is optional, and you are not used to doing insurance, you may miss insuring a package and this tends to outrage buyers.
Try to keep your shipping costs exact as not only can you be reported to E Bay for outragous shipping fees, it discourages buyers.
