When listing Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments, there are a few things you can include to help capture more bids and answer fewer emails.
Collectors of Keepsake Ornaments want the following information when looking for an ornament:
1. Is the box included and what condition is it in? Be honest. If there is a crease, mention it. If there are rub marks on the box, mention it.
2. What condition is the ornament in and, if a magic ornament, does it work? If it is a snowglobe, has the water changed colors?
3. Is the price tag attached?
4. What is the item number: on Hallmark Ornaments this is a group of letters then numbers again. Example: QXG4292. This is important, as Hallmark has re-issued many ornaments. This is not the UPC code.
5. Is it a repaint or re-issue of a previous ornament?
6. Some years a card was included in the box. Is this included?
7. Include the artist information. This is found on the back of the box on most ornaments. This will increase hits on your site if a person searches by artist.
8. What is the issue year? Sometimes this is obvious, like on the ornament itself, and sometimes its not. When its not, you have to find the year in the small print by the UPC code on most ornaments. On older ornaments, this may not be easy, but most had a date somewhere on the ornament.
9. Include the size if possible. Including a dime or quarter or ruler in the photo gives the buyer a reference.
10. And last, but not least, spell Hallmark and the name of the ornament correctly. If a person does a search of "Hallmark" and you spell it "Halmark" or "Hall Mark" or ...you get the picture, they won't hit on your auction.
Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments collectors include both the serious and not-so-serious collectors. The value of the ornament is based upon how many people are wanting that ornament at that time. See what others are bidding and determine if you want to buy or sell at that time or wait. Research and information really pays.
Happy Holidays
