I have been reading many posts here that pretty much describe the same things that I have gone thru with liquidation.com. I have won approximately 20 auctions with them, of which 10 of them worked out ok, and the other 10 or so had problems.
I am happy to report that I did WIN an dispute with them, since the auction stated 16 pieces and I only received 8. It did take 6 weeks for me to receive my money back and I was expecting 50% (minus the shipping charge) but it strangely was about 38%. But I was happy I had gotten money back already so did not do anything else.
It is extremely hard to speak to anyone there, and they will never return your call. When calling the buyer's hotline the average wait time I have had to speak to someone is about 45 minutes and the people tend to be very rude.
Here are the problems I have had with them;
- I have had 2 auctions cancelled, I think because the seller did not like the price. Since the same lot was listed again a few weeks later. It took me about 5 weeks in both cases to get my money refunded
- As mentioned above I had one auction were I received half the product, won the dispute but did not receive the full refund I was expecting. Plus they held my money for about 6 weeks, and I could not sell any of the merchandise that I did receive. So all that just was sitting still.
- NEVER buy any NEW items such as memory cards, I got duped on 3 auctions with these. Spend a total of $4000, all the memory cards were new, but complete fakes. Instead of 4gb they were 128mb. Since the merchandise was new I only inspected the physical aspect of the merchandise. So I did not file any complain because they looked good in the new wrapped boxes etc. But once I started selling them on ebay I got 90% back from buyers and I refunded everyone 100%!! So then I started trying to talk with Liquidation.com, asking to be put in contact with the seller, but never got anywere. So I lost $4000 on those. So I stay away from any no name elctronics. Eventhough it is listed as new, it is JUNK!!
- Then I had won 1 auction where they wanted to use a freightforwarder and charge me $900 for shipping, I contacted them and asked them to ship it UPS, since it was a lot of small boxes. They finally did, and guess what...UPS only charged $300. So why in the world did they not figure this out themselves and almost overcharged me $600. They told me they would use UPS this time, but in the future I had to go with whomever they assigned. Thats fine, but do your research and do not rip off your customers like that!!
All in all, you can get some decent deals at Liquidation.com, but beware, there is also ALOT of junk on that site. Especially any memory cards etc, these are all FAKE so don't spend your good money on it.
Oh, before I forget, I did receive an email once with a customer survey from them. Saying customer input is what makes the company work. Well, I ripped them to shreds pretty much, but non of the changes I suggested have been implemented. My main one was that there has to be seller accountability. You have to be able to contact a seller, and a rating system etc etc etc....
Oh well, hope this was helpful for someone.
