I bought 3 laptop from a company called liquidation.com on 02/19/07. The laptops came in. 1 laptop was a store display but worked fine. 2nd laptop no screen, laptop would power on but the screen did not work. 3rd laptop powered on but the screen was broke, it looked like someone punched the laptop. To make matters worse, the power cords for these laptops were not HP power cords!!!
I put a dispute in with liquidation.com the day I received the laptops, 02/23/07. I specifically wrote, what I receive was not stated in the auction on liquidation.com. In their auction it states, "click here to view actual photos of the items". I did NOT receive the "actual" items in the pictures!!
I received a e-mail back from liquidation.com on 03/08/07 stating they will not honor my dispute, and the dispute is now closed, that I am responsible for the broken laptops and $2455.25 that is cost me. I was not happy with there resolution so I called liquidation.com the same day. They told me their manage would get back to me shortly. 10 days later, I called a 2nd time since I did not hear back from the manager. Nothing once again. I called 10 days later and same. Got no where!!
During this time, I put a stop on the charge to my credit card and contacted the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney's General for Washington DC.
I sent 2 of the laptops back to HP since they were still under warranty to get them fixed. HP was able to fix 1 laptop. I received a call 03/22/07 about the 2nd laptop and they told me they will be unable to fix the laptop under the warranty since this is "physical" damage to the laptop and not operational. They told me it appears that someone punched the laptop to cause the damage. They told me if I wanted them to fix the laptop, it would cost me an extra $698.95 for a new screen. I told them no way, ship me back the broken laptop.
The moral to this story is. DO NOT buy from liqudation.com. I am doing whatever I can do to prevent people from buying from them. If you have bought from them and are not happy, contact the BBB (202-393-8000)and the Attorney General. Here is another website you might want to visit and file a complaint with (www ftc dot gov & ripoffcomplaint dot com)
From my research there are many people unhappy with there service. They are stealing our money and sending us garbage!!
Please contact me if you need more contact information to put this company to a STOP!!!
UPDATE: My credit card company found in my favor for this transaction.
