If you are looking for a wireless router for your home, then you defiantly should consider looking for products that are sold by Linksys. I only say this because I have had the best experience ever.

When you buy a router or any computer electronics you must consider future growth. If you need to buy a new router or if your buying your first router. always go ahead and consider the wireless router functions, even if you think you don't need it NOW.... You will realize later on in ur life you will get a new computer and will want it to be wireless. Thats when you consider checking out the linksys routers which are built by Cisco which is a very well known networking company. So when you go look for a router by linksys check out the Wireless G router model # WRT54G.

This router is excellent!! packed with features and if your a real techy you can even load linux onto the router depending on the version of the router you buy. But anyways this router comes with 4 hard wired networking ports and 2 antennas for a better wireless signal strength. which can reach up to 54MBps on the 2.4GHz G channel. and up to 11MBps also on the 2.4GHz frequency but on the B channel. Wireless G and B are backwards compatible which is great for if you have a old laptop which has a wireless B card in it but your desktop has a wireless G card in it. they will both connect to the same router at the same time and work perfectly fine.

Provides excellent security like;

WPA Personal: Includes 2 WPA algorithms "TKIP, AES". Also includes an option for a shared key, and a Key Renewal Timeout.

WPA Enterprise: Includes 2 algorithms "TKIP, AES". Also includes options for a RADIUS server address (including port #), shared key, and Key Renewal Timeout.

WPA2 Personal: Includes 2 algorithms "AES, TKIP+AES". Also includes an option for a shared key, and a Key Renewal Timeout.

WPA2 Enterprise: Includes 2 algorithms "AES, TKIP+AES". Also includes options for an RADIUS server address, Port #, Shared Key, and Key Renewal Timeout.

RADIUS: Includes RADIUS Server address, RADIUS Port, Shared Key, Default Transmit Key, WEP Encryption (64 bits 10 hex digits, 128 bits 26 hex digits.), and up to 4 keys.

WEP: Includes 2 different WEP Encryption modes (64 bits 10 hex digits, and 128 bits 26 hex digits.). and up to 4 Keys. *Which is great for home users easy to setup and use and still very secure. I suggest using the MAC address filter option*

You can also use the Wireless MAC filter, which you can set to only allow the certain MAC addresses which are special ID's built into the network card itself and CANNOT be changed. and to block ALL other MAC addresses that are not in your allow list.

It has options for access restrictions to certain ports or certain times of the day, for each port, MAC address, or IP address. so you can disallow your children from getting on the internet at certain times of the day or night.

It has an Application and gaming tab where you can forward incoming ports to certain IP addresses or allow certain applications such as games access the internet and to allow incoming traffic.

You can also monitor and view the logs that you can set to record. who is on your network and at which IP address and what their MAC address is. 

This Wireless router is great for homes and beginners! I defiantly reccomend linksys out of experience of their products and my networking knowledge.
