How to wash your lingerie or swim suit.
Hand Wash
To make sure your delicate lingerie and swim suits last longer, keep them out of the washer. Fill your kitchen sink with cold water and a gentle detergent such as shampoo. Let your lingerie or swim suit soak for a good hour then come back and gently rub your item with your hands. Exercise great caution when rubbing so your do not pull any threads out. This is especially true with lace or satin.
Machine Wash
We do not recommend using the washing machine. If you have to, put your lingerie or swim suit in a lingerie bag and put your washer on the delicate cycle using cold water. The lingerie bag will help protect your delicate items from getting stretched out and/or damaged on the walls of the washer. Lingerie bags are made of mesh that allows in soap and water.
You will want to use a minimal amount of detergent. Do not add any other items to the washer. This will help prevent damage from other heavier clothing.
Not the Dryer
The dryer is the worst thing for your lingerie or swim wear. Tumble drying damages the shape and nature of delicate fabrics that your lingerie or swim suit is made of.
All of your lingerie or swim suits should be hung to dry on a clothes line or drying rack. Also, make sure that you do not wring out your lingerie or swim wear, this could ruin the shape.
