I Think ! When is a Life Time Warrantee not a Life time warrantee WHEN YOU BUY KONI SHOCKS its not your life time . I will tell you my story . Back in 1980 I picked up a 1974 TVR sports car that turned into a daily driver. In the mid 1980es the shocks went bad  .The OEMs were Armstrong and hard to find .So a British parts dealer sold me a set of Koni shocks .One of the bragged up features was a LIFE TIME WARRANTEE as well as the shocks could be adjusted for ride .The shocks back then cost $250 for 4 a set compared to Armstrong for under $100 a set of 4 (found later) and removed 2 of the Koni's . The car was light and rode like a teeter todder and the softer shock in the rear helped . So sometime in the late 1980s two of the Koni shocks went into a parts bin .Saved in case I needed them down the road later . I know 1989 was a long time ago but the shocks looked good and went into a box for years . In the same box I had two almost new 5 ton truck shocks sold by Fruehauf trailer and I got that set in 1973 and they are still fine today so long storage is not a problem . Back to the Koni s a little more than a year ago I was working on the TVR and noted a leak on one of the front Koni shocks . So I pulled the saved set out of storage . The adjustment on the Konies was stiff so I changed the setting to softer .and when I did that one of the Shocks failed 100% and started to leak oil . End of set .also the rubber bumpers Failed as well as the mount up rubber bushings . Now to the chase as I recall , I located my Old info that was nothing but a sales promo and found a copy of a charge card invoice that matched the price of the shocks but was un clear as to what date the charge was made .No matter it did not matter . I called Koni and stated I needed my Life Time replacement or repair .Number 1 I got a real run a round with all kinds of people ,Reps ,Sales , Repair ,more  Reps . But whan I talked to some one in the repair dept. I got the real deal . I was ask for the numbers off the side of the Shock , And was told that the shock was made in the late1970es maybe 1979 and game over .I was told that the shock was to old for any LIFE TIME WARRANTEE  to apply . Problem is Koni as well as a lot of other makers of over advertised  Stuff or Junk get away with Falsehoods or misleading statements regarding products as well as Services . Just the other day I contracted a Outfit to do a land Value appraisal . The owner of that outfit told me that they would get my paper work copied and back to me Priority Mail next day .Of course that never happened (LIE)and I ended up calling them every day for a week just to get my own paper work back ,and I was going to get a quote in 10 days in righting another lie.After 20 days and calling for a another week solid I only got a quote over the phone and that was done wrong ,And they charged $1200 for just a few phone calls to the city and looked at the computer for a few seconds tossed some crap together that was out of sight wrong and said they would sent it to me Wrong of course . And try to find better rats doing like wise , any different today . This is scam crap,shams .lies ,falsehoods cheating and wasting your time and money as well .Almost anything you pay for now is the same way . And this is what our lives has come to . You can work hard and try to do a nice job for others and thats worth close to nothing and some people think you should work hard for free and never retire to boot . You give some one a good deal and you take the beating .Or treated as a fool  . To make it now you must Cheat, Lie ,Gouge ,tell False and or Misleading statements and do as little as possible to earn what you think you are worth .And to be within the law all you need is a Government permit of some sort .If some one clams that a thing for sale has a Life Time Gurantee ,you are mistaken . The Big Brother Government has ruled that such a Life Time is not Your Lifetime or in the case of the shocks the Lifetime of the car, or even how long you own such stuff, its what ever the  manufactures thinks the Lifetime of what they are selling should be ANOTHER LIE .And in most cases its 10 years or less or they just quit making what ever and the guarantee is worthless or (just think of roofers they just change the name of the roofing outfit every few years )THIS IS A LIE ALSO.and in some cases you pay extra for such a scam . Back in the Old West if a salesman drifted into town and sold snake oil as a cure all and if the kids just got drunk but not well ,the lier got Tared and Feathered as well as run out of town on a rail .The wagon got set on fire and if the guy ever came back he would be hanging from a local tree .Why can't people demand and enforce stopping all the Lies ,Deceptions, Falsehoods ,(a nice word now) Scams ,and Ripoffs also known as stealing THE WORD RIP OFF IN ITS SELF IS A LIE FOR STEALING it makes stealing sound nice. As a nation we can not tell the rest of the world how wrong they are when the Cheats and Liars hear and now are winning ground everyday .I just love how things are going now a Doctor can screw up some one and medicine is when needed not a exact science but their billing is .Try getting a refund from a Quack Doctor when you must have his work redone by another AMA union Doctor . When a professional bills they do so as if they are gods .Insurance outfits are another one .If you buy insurance on say a car and most states you can't drive with out insurance . Then you have a fender bender the Insurance outfit can,dose, and will charge you a extra rate untill the damage is payed off ,like wise for home damage . This is not Insurance .Why did you buy insurance in the first place . Insurance now is just loan sharking and in some cases they will find a way not to pay for damage at all  .And if you miss a payment maybe the Insurance mob will brake your arm .
