Hello, If you have read my other guide,  Up and Coming Sellers Beware of Paypal.... then you know that Paypal can easily put you out of business. "Well they can try".

Im here to tell you there is life after paypal. If for some reason Paypal shuts you down sure you can keep selling on eBay and just accept personal checks or money orders. That is fine for the weekend seller. If you make your living on eBay as I do you must be able to accept credit cards and have your customers feel safe in the transaction as well. I would suggest doing some research and opening a merchant account. There are a ton of places out there that you can get a merchant account from, they all offer the same service but trust me they are not all the same. Many have good rates but charge for the virtual terminal setup, or have an initial setup charge with all sorts of other hidden charges. I researched many merchant account companies including my personal bank. I spent countless hours trying to find a simple all in one solution that would allow me to accept credit card payments and easily integrate with eBay. Integration with eBay is the key. You dont want to sign up for a merchant account and then find out you need to take a class in computer programming to figure out how to integrate your new merchant account with eBay.

Well Im very happy to tell you there is a great alternative to Paypal out there. Cardservice International saved my eBay business. They are fast and easy to get approved for. (Paypal shut me down because they said I had bad credit and was high risk) Cardservice International approved me within 12 hours. They have full instructions on how to integrate your ebay account to the merchant account, they even offer a free shopping cart on a secure server for you to accept payments with. The best part about having a merchant account the funds get deposited directly into your bank account. No more waiting 3-4 days for paypal to transfer funds. When you are working with a limited budget and trying to place orders for your merchandise this is very beneficial because your money is available to you much quicker. Most suppliers do not accept paypal for payment. Lets say you place your order on monday, have your items by wednesday and get them all listed and sold by sunday. Great now its time to reorder but you cant pay your supplier because you have to wait for the funds you transferred from paypal to become available. So know you cant place your order till thursday. You just missed out on the weekend selling spree which is normally the best time to sell. With the merchant account your funds are available by tuesday or wednesday leaving plenty of time to place that order and have it for the weekend. You can locate Cardservice International easily by doing a search on the web for them. I would give you the link but that would be against eBay policy.

I hope you find this guide helpful. eBay is a great place to make a few bucks or to sell fulltime and leave the rat race behind. I have been able to quit my regular job and am now selling on eBay fulltime.
