Lidia had her own Tv series The Italian American Table on PBS, Lidia's grandmother Rosa, aunt Lidia, mother Erminia, cousin Anci, brother Franco, grandfather Giovanni, father Vittorio, great aunt Anna, cousin Sonia, great uncle Menigo, great uncle Rapetti, aunt Santola, great aunt Yoda, great aunt Nina have all contributed to Lidias legacy.
I remember those shows on PBS and Lidia's favorite quote "add a little bit more olive oooil". Italian American cuisine was established on PBS in 1998 and in 2007 launched another Tv series Lidia's Italy. As you know Lidia had previously opened her own retaurant Buonavia in 1971 in Queens NY. Lidia got so famous and successful Villa Secondo was opened in Queens as well. 1981 would role around the corner and bring both restaurants for sale so they could build a better restaurant establishment called Felidia.
1993 was the year Becco was established in Manhattan, and this created a stir with possible rights to franchising (I think this was the same year she got a chance to hang with top notch master Julia Child). The late 90's (1997) would bring Lidia a new passion and profit a new restaurant outside New York called Lidia's Kansas City.
