Spending too much time searching eBay each day for that perfect little black dress for office holidat party?  Have eBay e-mail you when it comes up for auction instead! 

Here’s how you do it!  Sign in and enter your search term in the top, right corner of any page (make sure to add a brand name, color and size). When the results come up, click “Add to Favorite Searches.”  Then check the “e-mail me daily” box.  From there, click “Save Search.”  Now when the absolutely perfect Dana Buchman dress is up for sale, you’ll get the word in your email.

Obviously, the classic rules for bidding and buying still apply when you find that perfect dress (and the shoes to go with it!):

-  If you get a message, read the ad carefully and E-mail the seller to clarify the description if you need to.  Give the seller enough time to respond before auction end.

-  If postage and handling costs are not clearly stated, clarify before bidding on the item. The vague statement, “buyer adds postage and handling to winning bid” could easily mean a $20.00 charge to mail a $15.00 dress.

-  See what other bidders’ experience has been with this seller before buying by carefully reading the seller’s feedback.
