LeBron James has officially put the Cleveland Cavaliers on the NBA playoff map, and in just three years.  One of the most heavily hyped high school basketball stars in the history of the sport, James has somehow managed to live up to the great expectations surrounding him.  A hit with the fans, LeBron James jerseys have consistently been in the top five NBA best sellers.  According to the latest stats from the NBA, current sales of his jerseys are eclipsed only by those of Dwayne Wade of the Heat and Allen Iverson of the 76ers. 

"King" James was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio.  He first attracted national attention playing for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron (the Irish). He was soon on the cover of major sports magazines, his games were shown on ESPN, and he was the center of controversy and hype. It came as no surprise to anyone when he declared his position in the NBA draft after his senior year, and it was equally no surprise that the Cavs drafted him first overall in 2003. 

What may be more surprising is how well LeBron James has delivered, given the attention.  He was the 2003-04 Rookie of the Year, second in MVP voting at the end of the 2005-06 season, and was able to lead the Cavs from cellar-dwellers to the second round of the playoffs. 

At this point in his career, just about every kind of James jersey has some appeal.  Throwback high school jerseys, Reebok's NBA authentics, swingman jerseys and other James memorabilia are consistent sellers--and may be worth even more in the future.
