I have the good fortune of owning a couple of Leatherman Wave multitools. Every person should have a good multitool, and Leatherman makes some of the best to be had. Leatherman Wave multitools are particularly nice multitools - they are made in America, which means they are top notch quality. Waves are laid out very ergonomically, are well engineered, and are built to be used for a very long time. The steel is very high grade stainless and the blades hold an edge very well and generally resist stains and rust (but you will always be smart to keep your Leatherman Wave clean and well oiled, after all, they aren't inexpensive to purchase, so you want to protect your investment and keep it well maintained). All-in-all you cannot go wrong with any Leatherman multitool. They are all excellent products, and this is especially true of the Wave. If you get one, also get the Bit Kit that Leatherman offers, which gives you additional versatility. There is also a fellow on eBay who privately makes and sells his own bit adapter kit which allows the Leatherman Wave, Surge, & Ti to accept 1/4 standard bits, which is a huge boon because then you can use any common 1/4 bit. In short, buy yourself a Wave - you will never regret it. Moreover, every camper, and every backpacker should have a high quality multitool in their gear pack. A good multitool will have a fair heft to it, so just get used to it and ignore the ultra lite ethos (which can act against a person if they are too gung ho about such things). The extra weight of a Wave or Surge is worth its weight in gold out in the field when having such a tool as a Leatherman Wave can make the difference between life and death, or at least between having a good time and having a not so good time. I hope this helps.
