Fast Break in instructions for highend top quality Leather Gun holsters:
FIRST - STOP NOW - BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING - MAKE SURE THAT GUN IS NOT LOADED !!! DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITH A LOADED WEAPON !!!
If you have just recieved your new gun leather, and like that last pair of new boots you got, she is a lil on the tight side,
here are some tips for a faster break-in that may help out.
1. Aquire some wax paper from the kitchen.
2. Tear off a sheet large enough to wrap around your gun twice.
3. BEFORE you wrap your gun - take your thumbnail and scratch the wax paper to determine which side of the paper has wax and which does not - only one side of the wax paper is waxed.
4. Wrap your gun twice with the wax paper, insure that the wax is facing AWAY from the finish of the gun.
5. Stuff the wrapped gun into its new holster and let it sit for a day or so.
This will give you a 1-2mm streatch AND the wax will impregnate the inside or unlined leather portion of the holster. This will facilitate a nice smoth draw and not harm retention in any way.
I hope this helps out with some of those early tight fits and brings you on the road to loving your new top grain leather holster even more. Take care of your holster and it wil last you a lifetime.
