Please do not make your buying decision based on if the Candle Company you are buying from states they do not use Lead Wicks. ALL candles in the US must NOT use Lead Wicks as they are banned by law. To prevent any type of lead is to buy from candle makers that use Cotton core or No core or Paper core wicks like Rezcandles and others. ALL metal wicks are going to have trace elements of Lead in them but nothing to be concerned about. A study i found froma few years ago stated that 100% Zinc Wicks have .008% and 100% tin have .004% lead which are way below the safety limit given out by the EPA.
Research shows that Zinc and Tin wicks are safe and pass the EPA's air quality tests. A Person would have to burn over 3,000 candles with Zinc wicks for 4 hours a day to exceed the EPA's air Quality Standard for Lead.
