This is a guide for the process for  home owners and/or professional lawn maintenance equipment annual service procedure , The Tune-up procedure.

The Tune - up procedure consist or several steps.

STEP One (1) is to clean the deck/Chassis. This step is very important because it is a preventive measure to stop the frame from rusting out, and not allowing grass and debris to obstruct or contaminate other parts of the machine. You can clean it by hand with a rag but a hose and or pressure washer gives the best results. MAKE sure to keep water from getting into the Carb or inside of the engine block clean before removing parts. Make sure to clean under deck.

STEP Two (2) Check filters and replace if neccary. Check air filter (near carb), Oil filter (on motor), Fuel filter (on fuel line), Transmission Filter(By annually on commercial walk behinds).

STEP Three (3) Replace spark plug(s) once a year in all cases even if it looks ok. play it safe. Check Gap.

STEP Four (4) Change engine oil. The drain will be located on bottom of engine for most residential push mower and on the side right next to the oil dip stick for Riding mowers and Commercial mowers

STEP Five (5) Sharpen and/or replace Blade(s). Make sure debris is clear under deck because if a deck a grass packed under the botton is will not mulch and it will not cut as much grass as it should.

STEP Six (6) Lubricate and grease. Spray with WD40 the throttle cable, drive cable, wing nuts (on handle), all grease fitting (on wheels, height adjusters, handle controls, and joints most commercial mowers have the grease fittings) and any other moving parts not directly connected to the motor.

STEP Seven (7) Check Tires/ Wheels for air pressure or wear and tear. Put air p.s.i to pressure on the tire and on drive wheels replace if worn or nut pulling well.

STEP Eight (8) Check and clean Battery with wire brush and acid cleaner. Replace if needed.

STEP Nine (9) Check belt(s) replace if needed. Look for cracks. also look for adjustment especially for commercial equipment.

This procedure should take between 45 min to 2 hrs depending on what type of equipment you have.
