Lasers:

Lasers are meant for CQB (Close Quarters Battle) and are mostly used on pistols and sub compact and compact machine guns. A laser can giveaway your coordinates especially at night (obviously). Green lasers are more visible during the daylight than red lasers. A 35mw green laser can be seen at 50 yards in daylight conditions and a red laser is approx half the distance. The reason is because the human eye see's green better than red. Your best bet is to zero in a laser device around 25-35 yards.

Scopes:

Scopes on the other hand are made for long distance accuracy. Depending on the firearm, your scope should best fit the limitations of the firearm. Scopes are mostly used for 100 yards or more and give the shooter greater accuracy outside the CQB range.

Plain Sights:

Stock sights usually come with a standard front/rear dovetail-type sights. But have an option of upgrading to a Trijicon, Heinie Tritium or fiber optic sight gives more visibility to the shooter in low-level lighting.

All Three Combined (Laser-Scope-Plain Sights):

All three if you desire. If you use a scope, a high-rise mount is recommended - so that you can still use the stock sights that are on the firearm. This way you will have three ways to lock onto a target - if your scope is not best to use at the moment you can still utilize the stock sights. Having the laser can also be used as a deterrent as well as sighting in quickly in a CQB situation. When long distance is a must then you can tune in to your scope and sight the target as well. Utilizing all three, will give you an advantage in any situation.
