I prefer laptop because
1-it is portable
2-it can be sold easily
3-it is lighter than laptop when you calculate shipping charges
4-you can repair it easier than desktop (lcd, keyboard, ram, etc...can be replaced easier than desktop.
5- You will save space .
6- Wireless will be easier. You can find good places for hot spots
