Size:
Most consumer pantyhose have a size chart on the back of the packages and if you find a style you thoroughly enjoy, experiment with the different sizes around the original one. Always keep in mind your "body shape" and remember the size charts are simply a guideline. For example, if you have a muscular leg, it would be recommended to go up a size, therefore avoiding the crotch sagging.  Every woman is not built the same. To ensure your pantyhose are fitting correctly just gently pull the material out and away from your leg, then let go, if you see it "snap" they are just right. They are too large if the material doesn't snap back. Your toes can also tell you whether your hosiery is fitting properly. Your Hosiery is too small if you keep pushing holes through the toe seam area or if your toes go numb over time. Hosiery should enhance your legs and add a glamorous touch to your outfit.

Color:
Pantyhose are available in different shades and colors. They are so much fun to play with by mixing them with your different outfits. Changing seasons play a role in the shade you might choose. Tights are more popular in northern climates, as are the black or darker shades during the winter. Shades of brown or suntan are more popular during summer. In the southern states brown shades take a strong lead with the ever popular shades of black for evening and more formal wear. Gentlemen are very attracted to a lady in the suntan shade but also Black and Coffee are very popular. Some ladies prefer to match the shade of the hosiery to the shade of their arms, but I personally prefer darker shades because is covers all blemishes. Hosiery should be very flattering and don't worry too much about matching colors. I find Gentleman never complain about the color of hosiery I decide to wear with my outfits. Always remember black hosiery goes with or without sleeves in the evening or more formal wear.

Denier:
Denier is a hosiery term relating to the weave. The 5-19 denier pantyhose can be called the sheer end of the spectrum and are very transparent. 20-39 denier pantyhose are semi-sheer and help smooth imperfections and hide blemishes. The 40 and above denier hosiery are considered opaque and are great for cold weather.  The 60 denier qualify as tights, which are opaque and have very little transparency. The lower the denier number means the sheerer and more transparent the hosiery. The higher the denier number means the more opaque it is. A higher denier number means the pantyhose weave is more dense. This doesn't mean they will feel tighter.

 Finish:
Hosiery finish is labeled by the manufacture. There are several different kinds available. They range from "ultra high gloss", which is very reflective to a "matte" finish, which has no shine at all. The finish a lady chooses is a matter of personal preference. Most gentlemen are attracted to a lady out and about in any pantyhose showing off their legs. Try different finishes if you are attempting to impress that special someone in your life. Find out which one catches his attention the most by watching his eyes. Pantyhose with a gloss are impressive when worn with business or evening apparel since they emphasize the shape of the legs and cover blemishes. Try the low luster or matte hosiery which gives a natural classic look for normal daytime wear.

Pantyhose look more classy, professional and attractive than bare legs. Bare legs are great on the beach or just lounging around the house, but a lady needs to wear pantyhose with her skirts and dresses when she goes out.
