Hello Everyone, I am one of the many who want to, or who who recently purchased a LG Voyager VX10000 cell phone.  This one was for my daughter who is 11, lucky child that she is,  as an upgrade from her Razr,  through Verizon.  She had wanted a touch screen phone, and since the I-Phone was not possible as it is a different carrier, AT&T.  We had bought the EnV, which I personally didn't like, but she did at first, so when we heard that the Voyager came out, we were in a 30 day period of exchange luckily, and quickly decided to exchange for the Voyager.  My daughter has been thrilled with this phone, but there are a few things you should know about it before purchasing this phone for yourself, or your child.

There is no doubt that this phone is certainly packed with all the latest technology, you can subsribe to various services available of course at additional cost per month, and watch Mobile TV, use GPS VZ Navigator, and it has a free way to store music with included Verizon V-cast music manager software allowing you to download music from your Itunes or other music library, right to your phone, and I believe some can be converted to ring tones.

The ring tones that come with this phone are quite sophisticated as well, different from the other phones, classical type music sounds, jazzy piano pieces, so these will appeal to some, and not to others. Of course you can buy your own, but after buying so many ring tones and games as well for my daughter's old Razr, and not being able to transfer any of them, it seems like a waste when you change phones, to lose all your investment in these extras.  The touch screens sound is playful, and you can also feel a little vibration each time you touch an icon at the same time as it makes the sound. Of course you have the side button where you can turn ALL sounds off.

The wonderful most attractive thing about this phone is obviously the touch screen, replete with all those nice little colorful icons before you all at once, the the tiniest touch, opens that command for you instantly. More than anything, that puts it at the next level over the rest.  Of course, EVERYONE will probably come up with the touch screen sooner or later, because it is the cutting edge technology that is selling so well.  The nice slim design on a QWERTY keyboard phone is another feature that is hard to beat when most are much bulkier. This wonderful slim design makes it nice and easy to handle while texting or internet usage.  The inside screen is nice and large, and easy to read which is great while using these applications. Phones have been going slimmer and slimmer, and this one has the best of both words because of the QWERTY keyboard without the usual bulk of it's predecessors like the overly large Sidekick and others. This is ALMOST as slim as a Razr, but longer of course.

All these nice qualities make this phone quite hard to obtain, it seems that very few of them are shipped to a store at a time and are on back order with customers on wait lists.  We got ours at Best Buy electronics retailer. We had someone holding the first one that came in, and it was the ONLY one that came in that whole week, and went out same day with us. I have since heard from our salesperson, who told me recently, that ours was not only the single shipment at that time, but NONE have been shipped for weeks since, and she has over 30 people on a waitlist for the next one to come in, so folks, get yours while you can!

This phone is VERY user friendly. Within moments of using it, it was very easy to figure out how to navigate through the menus with little confusion or needing to read the manual.  The greatest thing I really noticed right away is that the battery is very long lasting, you can go at least 2 days without having to charge it and even more with moderate usage. Before when my daughter had the EnV for a couple of weeks, this phone went dead DAILY.  It had to constantly be recharged and never lasted long after fully charging it, which I thought was absolutely awful for a brand new phone with a brand new battery!  Like the EnV and alot of the recent phones,  the charger input has a protective cover at the bottom center that snaps and flips around but stays attached to the phone, but where as the EnV was nearly impossible to put back in place, this one snaps right back in the right spot easily and without a fuss making the charger input, invisible.

The V-Cast music feature on this phone is wonderful, with great sounding speakers whether you have it open or closed, sound is brighter while open, so great to listen to while texting or using other open phone features, but the downside is that I thought it would hold much more music than it actually does.  It holds about 32 songs of average length 3.5 minutes, that is the limit for this phones capacity. The phone comes equipped with the necessary USB equipment cable to download music from your computer.  We used I-Tunes which will convert songs to selections for V Cast music manager, however, it will not transfer protected songs you've downloaded from I-Tunes, you can burn them to CD, and then import a copy of the song for transfer to V Cast music library, an extra time consuming step, but it is possible to do if you really want that particular song(s) on your phone. Dowloading the songs is simple and fast, just plug in the phone once you install music manager, and you'll be prompted, then your chosen songs will quickly load onto your phone.

The camera is also wonderful on this phone, and you can have two different screen saver/home screen photos, like on the EnV, one inside, and one outside.  The pics are very clear and you can edit them as well. Again, this phone is very limited it seems to how much you can store of your pictures.  While I have a Verizon Razr V3C which I still haven't reached the limit on, despite tons of film and pics on it I've been taking for about 2 years, this reached it's limit very fast, with just photos. The EnV also was the same way in this respect, it did not hold alot of pictures and we did not have music on the EnV.  For the Voyager I must mention that an annoying alert beeps every few minutes several times to tell you "memory is low, delete unwanted contents".  Problem was, they were wanted contents!  We had to delete quite a bit to get this phone to stop beeping every couple of minutes 4 times in succession. So keep in mind if you like alot of pics and songs, this phone does not have great memory storage, unless I've done something wrong, which I don't believe that I could have.

My favorite thing about this phone is that it is extremely easy to read the display, even without my reading glasses on, I can see this phone clearly, with nice large readouts on the touch screen. If you have trouble seeing your screens, you will appreciate the lovely large clear displays on this phone, best I've owned.  Problem with the touchscreen, is that the touchscreen is pretty sensitive, and there is an automatic touch screen lock that comes on to prevent accidently activation on the touchscreen.  Unfortunately, the unlock is PART OF the touchscreen too. This means it is touched very easily as well as any other touch screen feature on the phone, so once the phone is accidently unlocked, it is automatically opening the phone up to more touches which set off more. So if you have it in a pocket or handbag, it gets set off when you don't want it to.  You can end up opening any icon accidently, after the unlock icon is touched on the touch screen.  Also anyone can unlock the phone, unless maybe some way of setting this unlock touch icon, but I don't see how, if you have to first touch that to unlock it? It is too bad the phone does not lock from the inside, or a seperate side button, because the touch to unlock part right on the touchscreen, is completely self defeating. Touch screen also tends to get full of smudges and marks obviously, which need to be cleaned very carefully or when the phone is off so you don't dial or open features accidently.

The other feature that is a problem is the on and off, which is as usual, the END button, which is quite raised on the outside lower right on the phone, causing it again, like the keyboard to unlock, to turn itself on when in a hand bag, or in my case, my daughter's back pack.  Before she leaves for school, we make sure the phone is turned off, and I put it in a case in her book bag. Invariably, when she takes it out to let me know she is on her way home so I can meet her, the phone is already on despite her not touching it, or having it in a spot in her bag where it would be subject to being knocked into. Due to the raised easy to push END button on the outside, the slightest pressure, turns the phone right on. Although her school Principal allows cell phones, they are to always be off. I fret daily and so does she, that someone will call this phone when it has turned itself on, and get her in trouble, therefore the phone needs to be kept on silent, because we cannot seem to keep it shut off in her book bag.  For this reason, I will always prefer to have a flip phone like my Razr, over a touch screen or phone with outside buttons and features that need to be locked and unlocked. The touch screen is of course, incredibly fun cutting edge technology to have, but the same things that make it awesome, can also make it a hassle.

Overall, I will emphasize once more, it's one of the slimmest of the messaging and internet phones out there, certainly it's the least bulky and most streamlined QWERTY KEYBOARD phone beating the LG EnV and the big bulky SIDEKICK for it's classy look and easy to handle design.  You will enjoy it with nice clear loud sound, you can always hear everyone when speaking, like they're right next to you.  A limited amount of music will sound great if you love playing music on your phone.  I can't speak to the features I don't subscribe to, but they're all here on big colorful screens, easy to navigate features, easy to use keyboard, nice other features that come with the phone like a real world map, different time zones you can display along with your home one, in case you make overseas and long distance calls and need to know what time it is where you're calling.

Overall, this is a beautifully designed and very innovative classy phone with a long lasting battery life, to be proud of owning for certain, but I highly recommend it be kept in a hard case where the screens unlock feature, and ON/OFF END keys cannot be accidently activated.

Please feel free to email me with any questions you have for me, and I will try to answer them as best I can to help you make an informed and intelligent cell phone purchase.

I wish you all a BON VOYAGE in your travels to find your new cell phone!  I appreciate all your helpful votes and hope I've helped you today!
