This is the first series of Christmas season collector plates made by LENOX featuring a pierced design format.

The releases were issued from 1993 to 1996. The plates feature deep bas relief images that are highlighted with hand-painted 24kt gold. Some items are imported. The plates were originally $45.




The plates with their year of release are:

        1993            Holy Family
                            Joseph stands beside Mary who is holding the baby Jesus

        1993            Three Kings
                            On camels, the Wise Men are carrying gifts following a star

        1994            Shepherds
                            Three shepherds with staffs gaze at the star

        1994            Heralding Angels
                            Three angels playing a trumpet, harp and lute under the star

        1995            The Annunciation
                            An angel talks to a seated young woman

        1995            No Room at the Inn
                            Mary is seated on a donkey while Joseph talks to the innkeeper

        1995            Flight into Egypt
                            Mary on a donkey holding Jesus as Joseph walks

        1996            The Pieta
                            Michaelangelo's classic sculpture with two cherubs overhead


These plates are unique. The depth in the bas relief adds tremendous visual appeal.
