So you're saying, Why not buy a new laptop? Consider the time you used your laptop - did it pay off? Think about it - afix a screen or pay triple to get a new laptop, move over all your info, set it up, remove programs, add programs, etc to the new laptop & how to do that without a screen & all the time it takes to do it... you may find it more economical in it's entirety to remember the computer is fine & just replace the screen!
The tricky part - what do you have in there?
There are important factors to purchasing LCD's - mainly compatibility. Even within the same make & model laptop series- there can be alterations in the screens. You would notice this when you buy it originally. Various models in the same laptop series can have different manufacturers (even for the same spec screen!), different size screens, different reolutions, different types of resolutions, different connectors, Different pin-outs, one backlight or two backlights, Etc. It's important to get the right screen for your laptop. If you get the wrong one, or one that is not compatible with your current laptop, then it will not do ANY good to you & will not work. It's like engines - you can't just drop a jaguar engine into a ford & you can't do vice versa. It's dependant on many things, including your graphics card's capaibility, voltage, inverter, etc. So, we do not recommend trying anything other than compatible models & there very well may be several high quality screens that are compatible with your laptop. We're here to help you & direct you to purcahse the proper LCD for your laptop. Just ASK! Techexcess is open M-F 9am-5 PM EST & we're happy to help. :)

I would suggest to study a few & you will see the relative ease to install yourself, saving you big$. It's time, patience, a gentle hand, and a small screwdriver basically. I'd suggest to study some LCD removal instructions ( easily found on google ) - you may find one for your laptop series or a few close to it, but in your search try something easy like "lcd removal instructions", "lcd replacement", etc. If you're still uncomfortable, we suggest you take it to a repair shop - Price around, as they will vary & you may find smaller individual stores may be better pricing than say, best buy. :)
