As a experience seamstress for over 45 years -
I just wanted to share information on material and it's care.
I always suggest dry cleaning. But that can get expensive.
Cotton material is pretty safe to wash in cold to warm water & dry low temp.
Cotton Blend material wash in cold water- gentle cycle and dry low temp
Velvet & velours, nylons, let soak clean in tub cold water & mild degerent. Hang to dry.
If you are really not sure of the material - follow the last suggestion.
speciality material - really needs to be dry cleaned
Iron -cottons: & cotton/blend material can be iron on reverse side using a damp cloth. Always set your iron to the material's need.
Materials that are nylon, satins, silks, etc - should not iron.
Most the time with speciality materials if you soak clean and hang to dry - will be wrinkle free.
Thank you and take care, crazy_mooz
P.S. I am not listing this guide for any contest.
The purpose of this guide is for you to get the longest use out of any of your clothes items. Learning about materials and there cares helps clothes last longer.
