LA Weight Loss has been the best program for me. I have read several negative reviews about the cost of LAWL. I agree that the program is expensive (it depends upon how much weight you need to lose thus determining how many bars you will need to buy), but my health is worth it. At the rate I was going with my weight, I would end up spending more in healthcare/medical costs in the future (diabetes, etc.), if I even lived long enough to have a future. I have lost 40 pounds now and have about 60 more to go. I am not one of those advertised people that are losing extremely quick, but I am averaging 1.5 to 1.8 pounds per week. The main thing is that the weight is coming off for a healthier new me.
I like LAWL because you buy your food at a grocery store, not pricey prepackaged food! You don't learn healthy eating habits with prepackaged food. At LAWL you also get to eat out so you are not limited to just cooking at home. The program teaches you how to make better food choices. The whole family can eat the same things I get to eat.
Dread going to weigh in 3xs per week? Not me. The staff where I am a member are great! They keep me motivated. I don't mind visiting the center 3xs per week because I am always excited to see how much I have lost. Visiting the center 3xs per week also helps me stay on track because I know the scales will "tell all."
On a budget? When it comes to buying LAWL's snacks and meal replacement shakes, it can get quite pricey (but they are delicious I must say when I do buy them). I have found that some store bought snacks (like the Quaker buttered popcorn mini rice cakes) have about the same amounts of sodium, etc. as the LAWL snacks and are quite cheaper. I also found that SlimFast has about the same amounts of sodium, etc. as LAWL SlimDown and is much cheaper. You just have to compare the nutrition labels. (Sorry LAWL, but I have to cut costs somewhere.)
Overall, LAWL is pricey (only during your weight loss and stabilization phases), but well worth it!! What are you going to do when you finish other weight loss programs? Keep buying their pricey prepackaged foods the rest of your life to maintain your weight loss? Not me. I am learning to buy/eat healthier foods for life!!
