The Kwikstep, Ritestep, and Steprite Deluxe Irish dance hard shoes are all made by the same manufacturer under the Steprite name. The Irish hard shoes, sometimes also called heavy shoes or jig shoes, have several different features which will be described here as a method of comparison. Each shoe provides different features that are of interest to Irish dancers and therefore sleecting the correct shoe is often a matter of individual preference.
Steprite Deluxe
The Steprite Deluxe is a basic shoe that is intended for beginners but also works well for all other levels of dancing. The composite material used for the tip provides a loud crack and many often feel that this sound is even better than the fiberglass.

Ritestep

Kwikstep
The Kwikstep shoes are the most advanced and provide the most features. This shoe is suggested for more experienced dancers. It has special features to help prevent blistering such as the heel pipe cushioning and a fully cushioned insole. This shoe is often a favorite among many Irish dancers.
