Everywhere you are, at school or office, nowadays, PCs are a must to stay connected with your friends or with your community. But which PC to choose out of all those various types, many stores are selling and/or persuading you to buy? To answer that, you need to know what you need a PC for and understand the basics about the parts. For example you can't just upgrade to all the most expensive hardwares except your memory; it'll just make your PC very slow. So its better of knowing what each parts do, and that's exactly what you'll be finding in the next passages. Learn about the parts and grab the best valued part or a custom or factory built within your affordable budget range on Ebay!

Processor

It determines the speed / how fast your computer process given information. Intel was and is still the leading brand but there is another one called AMD (American Micro Devices) which is also catching up Intel by providing cheaper costs. But no matter what brand the processor is, before buying you should consider:r

Clock speed

It monitors the amount of instructions / commands a PC can process and execute in a second. Processors these days are already sold at the ghz (gigahertz) range. Always buy the one with a ghz, not mhz.

Cache memory

It stores the data that were previously accessed. In other words, it won't take twice as long to access the information already stored in the memory. Say you visited a site and it requires you to load all possible plug-ins (mostly with Internet Explorers). But once you've accessed first time, until you clear the cache, you will be able to load the same site way faster. Without a cache memory, much of the work will fall on the RAM (Random Access Memory).

RAM

It is a temporary memory of the PC, containing the info for the computer and other programs to run and function. It also contribute to the speed of the computer; higher it is, the faster your computer will be in accessing information and responding data.

Operating temperature

Some processors easily heats up. Before buying, make sure that you know enough about the operating temperature and if necessary consult with the tech whether you need to buy additional fans or place the computer in a room with certain temperature.

Motherboard

This is like the mothership, the control center of all parts, where parts of the PC’s CPU (Central Processing Unit) are attached. Some motherboards comes with video and sound cards (quality varies depending on the cost of the card and your budget). But that is not that important. What is important however is to get a motherboard that is compatible with the RAM and processor. Incompatibility can cause major problems which could result in breakdown of your computer.

Hard drive.

It is where you store all the information in your PC. it is like a floppy, zip or Cd disc with very very large storage space/capacity. Here you install all your programs and save all the documents that you need. Since people these days are storing multimedia files (downloaded music, videos, digital pictures)  that can clog up a small hard drive space very easily, it is also important that you buy a hard drive with really big capacity. Consider buying at least 60gb capacity.

Video & Sound Cards

They are hardwares that determines the quality of the multimedia images of photos and movies and the quality of the sound produced. The higher the memory and wave of the video & sound cards, the better is the picture quality and the colors and clearness of the sound. Video & sound cards are also responsible for how fast multimedia images are accessed and sound produced. higher memory is needed if you plan to watch a movie or play video games.

Now that you've learned about the parts and how they work as a part of the computer, go search for discounted AND perfect hardwares to start building the best gaming or office PC or to buy one the suits the best for you!

Wishes,
Hilton
