Made up of five members, this family of superheroes truly is "incredible."

Robert "Bob" Parr aka. Mr. Incredible : was the ultimate superhero with strength, speed, and strategy.  However, after he gave up his super identity, he felt trapped in his job as an insurance adjuster and longed to be super again.  However, that wasn't really a possibility because all of the "supers" had been relocated in the "super-protection program."  

Helen Parr aka Elastigirl aka Mrs. Incredible : is married to Mr. Incredible.  She's able to stretch up to 100 feet long and can stretch to 1 milimeter thick.  She understands her husband's need to be a superhero again, but doesn't want to jeopardize their family's safety when society rejected their help in the first place.  Dashiell "Dash" Robert Parr aka. Dash:  Dash's power is super speed.  He's very competitive and loves sports because he can excel easily as a runner.  He's the middle child in the Incredible family and enjoys picking on his big sister, Violet.

Violet "Vi" Parr aka. Violet : is the oldest daughter of Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl.  She has the power to become invisible at will and can also create force fields around herself and others.  She's a young teenager who is not quite sure where she fits in and makes a dramatic transformation when she finally begins to use her powers.      

Jack-Jack Parr aka. Jack-Jack :  Jack-Jack is the baby of the Incredible family.  He has many different powers that the family is not quite aware of, such as shape shifting, levitation, and being able to set himself on fire.   

Lucius Best aka Frozone :  He's been a friend of the Incredible family for over fifteen years; even attending the wedding of Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl.  He has the power to shoot ice and snow from his fingers as well as the ability of freezing liquid in midair. 

Buddy Pine aka Syndrome :  The archnemisis to Mr. Incredible, Syndrome once was Mr. Incredible's greatest fan.  He even went so far as to try to dub himself "Incrediboy" and try to become Mr. Incredible's sidekick.  Syndrome has no real superpowers. He's very intelligent and crafty and actually created many gadgets that can simulate the powers of the Supers.  After Mr. Incredible rejected him, Syndrome dedicated himself to becoming a villain and battling Mr. Incredible to find out once and for all who was more "super." 

Trivia : The Incredibles was released on November 5, 2004.

-Syndrome was not originally the main villain of the movie.  He was only supposed to appear in the first scene of the movie as the masquerading "Incrediboy."  The original villain was called Xerek, but because everyone responded to Sydrome's character, he was changed to the title villain.  In the "special features" on the Incredibles DVD, there are several storyboard preliminary scenes that feature Syndrome. 

-Elastigirl's character is a homage to Elasti-girl from the DC comic's team, the Doom Patrol, which was published from 1963 to 1968. 
This was the first movie by Pixar to receive a rating that was higher than G.  The Incredibles was rated PG.
