Cinderella was the daughter of a young nobleman who died when she was just a child.  She was left in the care of her stepmother and her two terrible stepsisters who mistreated her often.  Despite her difficult family, she still remained a very sweet young woman.  When the prince announced that a ball would be held to find his bride, Cinderella used the help of her fairy godmother to go to the ball and win his heart despite her stepmother's best efforts to win the crown for her own daughters.

Trivia :  Cinderella was released in theaters in 1950 by RKO Pictures.  It was the first feature length animated film that Disney had released since 1942 (Bambi).
