There are some fear mongers who will tell you that all knives from China are junk and shouldn't be considered. This is pure nonsense. Many of today's makers like Buck and Gerber are having their knives made there. Since the knife will wear the company logo, none of the makers can allow quality to slip.
I have sold and will continue to sell knives from China including the Boker-Magnum line. While these will not stand up to the quality of Al Mar Knives, they are fine using knives at a good price. Do take care if someone offers a knock-off at a cheap price! But do not worry about a knife just because it happens to be made there.
