The Kiddie rides most of us think of were 5,10,& 25 cent Coin-Operated rides. Most were located in front or in the old time Grocery, Department, and even Shoe stores. Some did go back as far as 1 cent machines. (Some 1 cent to keep the kids busy while Mom shopped)
Horses were most of the manufactured ones in the 50s' and 60's. Also popular were Rocket ships, airplanes, cars, motorcycles, fire engines, stage coaches, and of course the Cartoon Characters. Many after the TV show cowboys.
Bambi, Donald Duck, Huckleberry Hound,Champion, Sandy just to mname a few...there are hundreds of them.
The 70's, 80's, and 90's many more were copied, and many newer versions of the older rides....lots more new critters and Cartoon Characters. Both Fiberglass and Aluminum rides. Many more complicated multiple moving parts, sophicated videos added to some of the newer machines, such as Helicopters, Dragons, duel controls, double and triple animals on a ride.
Fun items for game rooms and the kids, but be careful, these are electrical items, wiring over 50 years old in some cases. Beware of sellers claiming to restore and not properly rewire, or no new wiring at all !
