Khet is far more than a strategy-based board game like Chess or Monopoly... what appeal to me are the Egyptian-themed pieces and the combination of mirror and laser. The rule confused me at first so I wanna write a few words about it for your easier grasp.

Each player begins with 12 pieces and a laser built into the board. There are 4 types of pieces, half of them have mirrors: a Pharaoh (the most powerful one), Obelisks, Djed columns and Pyramids. The goal is to eliminate your opponent’s Pharaoh. How? By pressing the laser button from your corner, a laser beam bounces from mirror to mirror around the board(always shooting off at a 90 degree angle) and when it lights up your opponent’s Pharaoh, you win. And other pieces with non-reflective surfaces are immediately removed from play after the laser hits them. Players take turn to move the mirrors pieces around the playing field so as to jap the opponent’s Pharaoh and kill him.

Strategic and dual thinking! And quite cheap I think ($34.95) , it’s worth my purchase! (I bought at www.innovatoys.com)
