I'm sure that you wrote the perfect eBay Guide and you are probably wondering why it isn’t getting many helpfulness votes. This is a common problem that even the highest ranked writers on eBay are trying to come up with answers for.
I have created an outline of ways that I promote my eBay Guide for you to use.
- First things first. Send it to your email forward list. I’m sure that you have a group of people that you send jokes or inspirational things to. Let all your family and friends give you feedback first. Hopefully they are honest, because you can always make improvements. Even after the guide is published. Make sure to tell them you need their vote to help you increase your ranking. The higher the ranking, the higher your sales. The higher your sales, the better you can provide for your family. This is the only group of people that you plead for votes with. Because they know you best, they know you best and they shouldn't get offended.
- Include your Guide in your email signature. Send an email to everyone that has just made a purchase from you. Email them again when payment is received. Send an email to everyone that you buy from. Send another when the item arrives. This keeps the dialogue going. They probably wouldn’t click on the link to your guide the first time they get an email from you. The more you keep talking back and forth, the more they are likely to read it and vote YES.
- Discretely mention your guide every chance you get. Send the link whenever the subject comes up.
- Link it to your About Me page. Mention it above your auctions in your eBay Store. Mention it in every auction! Plug it on your personal website. If you don’t have one, get a free one. Make a newsletter and mention it. Link all of your guides together. Send all of these pages to the free search engine submissions. The more pages that the guide is linked to, the higher your ranking in the WWW. The higher the ranking there, the more people that will view it and vote for you.
- Write lots of Reviews & Guides. Everyone you write, sends traffic to the other. You can write a review on every movie you watch, video game you play, CD you listen to, or every book you read. I currently have only written one. But the more you write, the more votes you get.
- Join an eBay Group for every subject you are interested in. If you can’t find any that you like, create one. Mention it in all the groups. Don’t make it look like a ploy for votes. Be discreet and mention it like a friend. Not like a salesperson would.
- Talk about it in the eBay Reviews & Guides Discussion Board. We love to help each other improve our guides and rankings.
- Join the R&G eBay Group. Again, we love to help.
- Make a banner ad for your Guide. You can find free tools easily through search engines. This makes it more apealing to the eye when you display the link. Here is a shrunken picture of mine as an example.
At this time, this is all I can come up with. I will add more as I come up with it. If you have any other suggestions or ideas, go to this thread to add it. Don't forget my advice. Plug your guide there.
If you are wondering how I think I am qualified to give you this advice. Well, it is these very networking skills that helped my 1st eBay Guide get awarded the $1000 prize in eBay's $10,000 Guide Giveaway. You are currently reading my 2nd guide. I hope it was helpful to you.
Sincerely,
