Glam wardrobe is made up of a few key pieces, and a few key accessories. We've got what you need in this how-to.
Here's How:
1. Wear a Poncho – Poncho’s make a simple jeans and tank combo really stand out. It dresses it up, while still keeping it casual.
2. Own Several Halter Tops – Halter tops that tie around the neck are essential for the glam girl. They bare the shoulders and back, which are certainly some of the sexier areas to show off skin without looking trashy.
3. Rock A Killer Dress – You need to have one dress that really just makes you stand out. The preferred style of glam divas is the little black dress that’s short enough to show off those great legs and low enough to have some cleavage.
4. Wear Trendy Items – This varies with the season, but on those days where you want to dress down, remember to wear one of the season's must have items – take the Von Dutch hat that’s so very “right this second” and pair it with your lazy jeans and beat up tank. Oh so chic, yet comfy at the same time.
5. Wear Stilettos/Heels – Ahh, no glam girl's wardrobe is complete without stilettos. Get them in sandals, pumps, boots, anything. Oh, and make sure you take the time to learn to walk in them. It’s very “un glam” to wear stilettos and wobble in them.
6. Hold Designer Handbags – Another must-have. You need at least one designer handbag to be considered glam. Designers that are so in right now are Gucci, Vuitton, Pucci, Kate Spade and Coach. Remember that while you don’t want to have the logos all over the place, make sure a logo is apparent so people know who you’re wearing without it seeming obvious. And hey, if you can’t drop the heavy amount of cash it takes to own a designer bag, go ahead and buy a smaller size, such as a the Gucci Belt bag.
7. Get the Cosmetics – Having the glam cosmetics is as important as having the glam look. Make sure you’re constantly with bronzer, and that you have a tan. Wear minimal amounts of color on your eyes, but make sure they stand out. And the signature glam look – glossed lips to the max.
8. Don't Forget the MAJOR Bling! – Last, but certainly not least, is jewelry -- The ultimate status symbol. Make sure you have at least one ring with a large stone in it. Fake or not, it doesn’t matter, as long as it’s shiny and eye catching. Pair your rings with cool tennis bracelets to dress it down, or chunky silver jewelry to dress it up. Don’t forget the eye-catching necklaces and earrings – the more you shine, the better.
Tips:
1. Remember that being glam is about the attitude as much as the clothes. A glam gal is self assured and confident. She's driven and knows who she is... and she isn't afraid to show it.
