Hi,
Often buyers get discouraged with buying Sterling Silver because after a certain period of time, Silver Oxidizes and turns dark. But what you don't realize is that silver can be polished and brought back to its original shine. There are ways to avoid and/or clean:
1) If you are not wearing your silver, keep it in a airtight ziplock back and keep it in your jewelry box. Air and moisture cause silver to oxidize.
2) Below is the solution how to clean the jewelry yourself:
Super Cleaner
In an eight ounce container (pickle jars work well), combine one inch of cleaning detergent (Top Job or Mr. Clean), one inch of dish washing liquid, and one inch of ammonia. Fill the rest of the container with water. Shake well. Use your microwave to heat up solution slightly or put in an old pot (you don’t use for food) and simmer on stove top. Place jewelry (silver or gold) into solution and let sit for about ten minutes. Remove from solution and rinse with water. That’s it.
3) Keep your silver clean by often wiping it with a silver polishing rag. This rag will take dirt and oils of the surface....it's great.
Hope this helps....another solution could be to try Stainless Steel Jewelry. Its cheaper, looks fantastic, extremely durable and is very fashionable. Feel free to look at our jewelry: www.stores.ebay.com/chipollajewelers
