Here are some great ideas I found for saving money on postage, shipping and handling for both you and your customers.

Print mailing labels (with or without postage appearing) on white 8.5 x 11 paper off  paypal and glue it to your package - it is cheaper.   You also get a delivery confirmation number so you can check on your sent items.

You can get boxes from your local shoe store - just ask for their empties - the best are the boot boxes.  After a while, they will begin to save some aside for you for the next time you show up.

Ask  for paper bags at the grocery store - another use for an already recycled item - thus you avoid paying for brown wrapping paper for packaging.

Don't toss the newspapers out after reading them, use them to wrap your items in and always  remember to pack the item as if it was still yours and you were moving and wanted it to arrive at its' new home in perfect condition.

With gas prices so high, why not arrange for parcel pickups from your home (check criteria in your area) and/or if you happen to be home and have packages ready to be mailed - try keeping an eye out for the mailman.

This kind of goes along with my other guide since by offering extremely reasonable shipping because your mailing materials aren't costing you much, you will find that even offering "free shipping" on some items - even if your price is a $1 or $2 more than the same item the next guy is selling - yours will be the one that sells - customers remember that and come back.
