Versace coctail dress... Vuitton purse... DVF
VERSACE COCTAIL DRESS.......This was an ACTUAL title of an authentic Versace dress, worth just over $500.00. I took immediate advantage of the 'buy it now' option for a mere $50. How could I resist? Anyone looking for a COCKTAIL dress, this FAB piece would go unnoticed for the simple fact that cocktail is misspelled. D&G purse,... let's see... think I might be searching for a Dolce Gabbana piece?? OF COURSE!!! However, because, DOLCE GABBANA is NOWHERE to be found in the title, AGAIN, my gain! I just LOVE DIANE VON FURSTENBERG. Try misspelling it... Believe me. You'll find some great finds.
The minimal exposure these items had, due to misspellings, misusage of abbreviations and lack of using the allotted space to MAXIMIZE the TITLE has been my GREAT FORTUNE!!!
FIRST OF ALL: GET THE SPELLING RIGHT!!!
Coctail is mispelled... should be COCKTAIL. Just a few (44) people took notice of this absolutely GORGEOUS dress and hundreds were unable, to my benefit, of seeing such a bargain. This particular dress was worn a couple of occasions and was like NEW. I sold the dress... using my own method of advertising, including USING the allotted character spaces available in the title and profited GREATLY.
SECOND OF ALL: MAXIMIZE THE TITLE SPACE!!!
eBay gives you 55 spaces for your title. Use them. First, do the research. Make sure spelling is correct. Does it have tags?? NWT= new with tags. NWOT= new without tags. NIB= new in box. NWOB= new without box. DON'T LIMIT YOURSELF TO THESE SHORTHAND ABBREVIATIONS. Hundreds of THOUSANDS of people are newly registered on eBay DAILY. What in the world would NWT mean to them??? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING... Be sure and add NEW as well in your title line. You're sure to gain MUCH MORE EXPOSURE, in turn gaining many more potential bidders and buyers!!!
THIRDLY: A PICTURE IS WORTH 1,000 WORDS!!!
Take great pics. Pay the extra .15 cents per pic it costs to ADD pictures that better show in detail what it is you're selling. The lack of pictures, says to the potential bidder, 'What's to hide??' Don't be 'penny wise, pound foolish', when it comes to selling on eBay. You'll be your own worst enemy if you do! The more detailed the pics, the more secure a buyer will feel and will bid! Hence, making you more cash!! Digital cameras are the way to go... get one on eBay!
LASTLY... TIMEING IS EVERYTHING!!!
Do you think it's the wisest to list at 5:00 pm on a weekday? Of course not!!! Notorious, 5:00 traffic. How about early Sunday morning hours? Nope.... lots of ebayers go to church too. During the airing of 'Deal or No Deal?'... I THINK NOT!!! HELLO?? Take your audience into consideration and time your auctions accordingly. I skip listing on the weekends because lots of people have lots to do. In my opinion listing around 8-10:00 PM works for me on a weekday, excluding Fridays. Kids are fed, dinners been had, it's down time. It's eBay time!!! We all know bidding at the last second hopefully skyrockets are sales. Sales don't typically 'skyrocket' at 7:00 in the morning when the coffee is brewing. Make sense?
A COUPLE TIPS FOR BUYERS!!!
Often I will INTENTIONALLY misspell a word, and see what pops up! More often than not, there will be several listings to sift through.
Try this. Louis Vuitton fan? Me, too! Try looking up, VUTTON or VITTON. Once I saw a lady who had her "LOUIE VITTON" wallet for sale. It was authentic. But it sure would not be seen by many! I just had to let her know. She was MOST grateful!
How about Versace? Try VERSACHE or VESACE. Dolce Gabbana is also one of my fave's! Try GABANNA. Diane Von Furstenberg... NOT FURSTENBURG. I guarantee you'll see some items come up. She's one of my favorite designers. I got a steal of a deal when 'DVF New Dress' was all that appeared in the title space! Nowhere was DIANE VON FURSTENBERG!!!
