THERE  is  a myth  that  ivory  from  Kenya is better  thant other parts of Africa , Pardon US , But  ELEPHANTS donot  know Boundaries ,  THEY  roam  free  through out Africa. The defining difference is  the age  and wheather or not  the water and  food supplies were sufficent  and since it  takes  many years  to develop  a tusk,  it  then stands to  reason  that  the tusk from various elephants  will differ slightly  from regon  to regon. Please also understand  that If elephants did not roam  then  the DNA  and resulting in breeding would  have long ago rendered  the ELEPHANTS of Africa EXTINCT .

Let us show you how truly ridiculous this statement really is. Let's say we have a baby elephant born in Kenya (from pure bred Kenyan elephant parents) and he/she roams out of Kenya to Tanzania. Does it now become Tanzanian ivory which is not as good as Kenyan? Now suppose, that offspring Kenyan elephant was female and mated in Tanzania but her mate migrated from Zambia. What would you then have? Ok, let's look the other way. Now, suppose those two elephants mated and had their offspring in Tanzania but then migrated back to Kenya. What kind of ivory would that be? Let's go one step further. Suppose their offspring mated with other Kenyan elephants; would that contaminate additional Kenyan elephants and therefore the ivory? How would you know if you have pure Kenyan elephant ivory tusks?

THAT said  there are various ORGINAZATIONS  who  say  they  are for  the preservation  of Elephants  and would have you send  to  them for free any Elephant tusk  or article made from same  for them  to dispose of . It has been our  considered opinon   and investigative  use of  the internet    that seem  to prove those folks who would have  your ITEMS  taken  before  the ban  on Tusk , ( for USE/PROFIT by  them )  use and resale under different names. While promising  things   which  they  cannot deliver .

This is probably the most laughable thing we've ever heard in recent times. One ivory seller in particular (yes, that same museum type firm) states that he sells only the finest Kenyan Ivory available. He further states that this is best for cue ivory. Well, if we were dealing with plants, we could agree. However, Ivory is not grown and the land where the elephant roams is immaterial to the quality of the ivory. Elephants are living and roaming creatures. They roam from place to place.

IT is  an offence for anyone to import or export from  THE USA any ELEPHANT ivory  tusk  taken after 1989  .THE ivory  that is  here already legally  can be sold and traded in the USA . You giving your items  away  to  one of many  companies using the thought  that  by  doing the giving  you  are saving an ELEPHANT . THAT IS NOT true  those elephants that were taken  legally prior  to  1989 are just as DEAD  and you funding someone project  to get rich off others without paying . READ  and learn  about consevation contact  the US Wild LIFE and US Customs  If  you have  QUESTIONS ABOUT  SELLING OR GIVING AWAY  what could be  a small fortune which  is rightfully  Yours.

The owner ship of legally  taken  IVORY is not a curse or sin  it  is part of what was at one time legal ,  an Art form  which  is becoming EXTINCT.

IF  you  deside to give the ivory carvings  away  think about  this  for over 200 years scraps of IVORY tusk  were burned and used to make one of the finest oil colors in the world (known as IVORY BLACK) so  you better give  away any oil painting made before 1947  that has  BLACK IN it.

References  on all that I have written  are avaiable on  the internet .

I WOULD LIKE to  thank  another Ebay user CUE COMPONENTS  for the major contribution   about  KENYA IVORY . THEY are also avaible on the WEB

PLEASE note  THE governments of several AFRICAN NATIONS still have stock PILES of IVORY  taken  from poachers  over  the last 40 years  and some of  that IVORY is legally exported under international LAW . WITH CITIES , DEFRA  and U.S. CUSTOMS CERTIFICATIONS  From  TIME  to  TIME  Exceptions Are made as long as  proof provided  about  the  time lines  on  the  tusk can be verified. It  takse  a Tusk  up  to 50 years  to dry out, split  and  crack , if cared  for  it can last  many  lifetimes .
