Step by step recipes:
~Items you need~.Plastic strainer,~small plastic spoon,~Plastic wrap,~Rubberband,~Clear glass jars for storage & making kefir,~Lids for jars,~distilled white vinegar,pure water,pure fruit juice.
For 1 to 2 cups of juice kefir;
- 1 QT jar
- 1 to 3 TBS juice Kefir grains/crystals
- 1 cup pure water
- 1 cup pure juice
- With juice kefir no heating is needed,pour water & juice into the jar,Only fill jars 3/4 full.
- add the kefir crystals
- cover jar opening with plastic wrap & gently screw on the lid to the jar.
- put in a dark cupboard or other spot out of direct sunlight.leave at room temp for 24 hours or less ,stir 1 or 2 times (room temp=68 to 86 degrees)
- when done,strain out the kefir crystals from juice.
- store the kefir juice in fridge, drink as desired
- Go back to step (1) with crystals,or restart when you are ready by starting at step (1) you can double or triple etc the recipe as needed.
never fill fermenting jars more than 3/4 full, because as the juice ferments & bubbles it could overflow, You will need to release the Co2 buildup in the jar a few times during fermentation.
