So glad Target’s latest GO International designer is finally here.  Long-time friends Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk started their Los Angeles-based line to make the kind of clothes they wanted for themselves--‘wearable, comfortable and need not make a spectacle of the wearer’.

Their new pieces for Target stay true to this vision with a 70’s-inspired collection that looks as appropos on Haight Ashbury as it does on Park Ave.  Although JH didn’t create as many silhouettes as they did for Mango last year, there are some choice pieces for all ages and body types. 

Highlights include a vintage-lace trimmed dress with a colorful and unusual cross-hatch print.  The fabric is a sheer poly with a solid cream underlayer and features an Empire waist with a back tie and ruffled bottom.  The designers used the same fabric combo for the wildflower print dress with a contrast mini-dot trim.   The longer bell sleeves on this one made me think of Kate Hudson’s wardrobe in Almost Famous. **eBay only allows 6 photos...check out my blog Dogmom's Dish for close-up and reverse side photos; click About Me and then the 'dog dish' icon on the left side**

  Another fave is a sleeveless, ruffled v-neck wrap dress…this is different from anything out there and guaranteed to be in heavy rotation, at least in my closet.  Love the mini-grid print with an extremely subtle vine background print.  Fabric is a fully lined cotton---my only concern is that it wrinkles easily and may not be the best choice for travel. 

   The other dress I’m gaga about is the Gunne Sax-inspired cream-color corset front one.  Sheer cotton outer layer features lace insets on the bodice and bottom.  It’s trimmed in vintage look circle lace with tiny puff sleeves and a back tie.

Most of the tops are pretty basic with some cute prints, including a stretchy cami with a star print.  I especially like the illustrated floral paisley print on the cotton tunic top.  The longer length flatters a range of body types and features a covered corset-loop button front with hidden elastic around the waist and a removable tie.
